Students should also be reading 20 minutes each day. Weekly reading calendars will be sent home. If returned, students will earn a cougar paw. For every three that are turned students will receive a pizza certificate!
The link above will take you to our district online library, SORA. This is a great resource for finding books and being able to check them out on a device. There are read-alongs, picture books, easy chapter books, and so much more available.

Reading and Spelling
Our reading program, Wonders, has a great online component that can be accessed from home. To get to the program, your child will need to log into their portal account. From the Granite District homepage, click on parent/teacher portal. Here your child will enter their user name and password. Their username is their student number (9 number or 4 number) and they should know their password (I can email both of these to you if needed). The first time you log in will look different than on subsequent log ins. You will need to click on Core Applications at the bottom of the main screen and choose Wonders. After this first login, Wonders should automatically show up under the recently viewed pages. Once logged in, students have games they can play, things they can write, and the stories we are working on for that week.
